Battle Rules

1. The object of the Battle segment is to: -

• destroy the opponents Space Base - this constitutes a win

• destroy all of the enemies spacecraft - this constitutes a win

• force the enemy to surrender - this constitutes a surrender

• game ends in a draw (rule 26) - this constitutes a draw

2. The spacecraft are divided into 8 categories, each with its own specific characteristics of movement, attacking power and defensive power.

3. In addition to spacecraft, each player can position 3 space mines on ranks 4 – 10 inclusive. Mines are invisible to your opponent.

4. No changes can be made to the positioning of the spacecraft and mines once the game has begun.

5. The challenger will always play the left side of the battle grid and the defender the right side.

6. Spacecraft can be placed on any squares in the rear two ranks - 1 and 2 and 12 and 13 respectively.

7. The defender makes the first move. Each move consists of: - • Moving 1 spacecraft to a new position horizontally or vertically; and • Firing 1 shot horizontally or vertically in any direction from any craft

8. The game continues with each player taking turns until one of the objects of the game is achieved.

9. The timer situated at the top of the War Room page allows each player 1 minute per move. Any move or part of a move not completed within the time limit of 1 minute is forfeited.

10. A player may elect to surrender at any time during a game. A player who surrenders keeps their remaining spacecraft but lose experience.
