Frontier

The expression Frontier town or region is used to describe recently settled areas of Planets or habitable Moons of the Milky Way Galaxy in which civilization has not yet taken a proper hold and in which protection of oneself and one's assets is largely left up to each individual.

Often these Frontier areas are situated in regions where control and law enforcement is in dispute between The Galactic Patrol and the Overlords Alliance or between individual members of either Alliance. Where territorial disputes are current there is usually no proper governing body and no concerted form of law enforcement. Enforcement of individual and group rights is usually performed by the individuals or group concerned.

El Dorado is a good example of a Frontier town.
