Space Battle Objects and Rules
1. The objects of Space Battle are to: -
• destroy the opponents Space Base - this constitutes a win
• destroy all of the enemies spacecraft - this constitutes a win
• force the enemy to surrender - this constitutes a surrender
• game ends in a draw - this constitutes a draw
2. Space Battle commences with a player challenging another player to Space battle by game mail. The player who is challenged can accept or refuse battle
3. The players then agree on a time for the battle to take place. If they cannot agree on a time then a staff member can be asked to appoint a time.
4. The spacecraft are divided into 9 categories, each with its own specific characteristics of movement, attacking power and defensive power.
5. In addition to spacecraft, each player can position 3 space mines anywhere on ranks 4 - 10 inclusive.
6. The battle takes on a grid of 9 rows and 13 columns.
7. each player then selects spacecraft and positions them on their two commencement rows. This is completed before the game begins. Neither player will know the disposition of the opponent's spacecraft until the game begins. No changes can be made to the positioning of the spacecraft and mines once the game has begun.
8. The challenger will always play the left side of the battle grid and the defender the right side.
9. The defender makes the first move. Each move consists of: -
• Moving 1 spacecraft to a new position horizontally, or diagonally; and/or
• Firing 1 shot horizontally, or diagonally in any direction from any craft
10. Enemy mines are invisible and are exploded by a spacecraft landing on or crossing over their position.
11. Each player has up to 1 minute per move. When move is completed the opponent can then play. Prior to the 1 minute time-up the Green Light will flash a warning for 5 seconds. If no move is made within 1 minute, that move is forfeited.
12. Once a battle is commenced it cannot be postponed for any reason. If a player cannot continue this shall be considered as a surrender by the player who is unable to continue.
13. In the event that all remaining spacecraft on both sides have expended their firing capacity, then the game shall terminate and be declared a draw.
14. A player may elect to surrender at any time during a game. The player surrendering keep their remaining spacecraft but lose experience.
