Humans

Humans live on a planet called Earth powered by a young sun. Earth is a beautiful blue and white planet and has an attendant moon. Although Human history is one of violence and conquest it is also one of deep religious convictions and good deeds.

When space travel was first developed on Earth attempts were made by the Government of Earth to colonize other planets. This was partially successful but also brought Earth into conflict with a number of powerful planets.

Prior to the formation of the Old Empire the Humans from Earth made various attempts to persuade Vulcan to become a vassal planet of Earth. When this proposal was rejected by the Vulcans, Earth Control sent Fleet Admiral Nils Larsen with a Battle Fleet of over 1,000 craft to force the Vulcans to change their minds. By chance the Battle Fleet arrived just after a War Fleet comprised of Taurans and Vegans had laid siege to Vulcan. Nils Larsen then made a unilateral decision that was to have far reaching effects upon Earth/Vulcan relations. Instead of carrying out his orders he attacked the Tauran/Vegan war Fleet and with the element of surprise inflicted a comprehensive defeat upon it.

Consequently Humans and Vulcans have been allies since the days of the Old Empire. They founded The Galactic Patrol and act as the unofficial police of the Galaxy.
