Massons

The Massons of Elgan are a young race by our galactic timetable and were discovered as an intelligent race only recently. They are artistic and have given the Galaxy many of its great recent works of art. Elgan is rich in jewels which are dug from deep mines in the equatorial regions. After the Masson craftswomen have worked their magic many of the jewels produced on Elgan end up in spectacular fashion shows held on Vogue.

The Massons are sworn enemies of The Clan of Mystral against whom they have fought several wars. The Massons can change their appearance, are sneaky and make great spies. The Galactic Patrol made great use of the Massonian spying abilities to locate and destroy the Overlords Alliance led invasion of the Central Galaxy in the early Wars of Domination.

Queen Annshi of the Massons favours alignment to The Galactic Patrol as do many Massons. Lately however, there has emerged a group of Massons led by Princess Lialla of the Middle Core Party who have been calling for closer ties with Mordor and the Overlords Alliance. This radical (for Elgan), political party represented by a new, young group of politicians holds great appeal for younger Massons who have grown up knowing only the rule of Queen Annshi and her Upper Party. There is great concern within the upper levels of The Galactic Patrol that Princess Lialla will win the coming election and align Elgan with the Overlords Alliance thus weakening The Galactic Patrol alliance.
