Samara is a Desert Planet, the former home of a long extinct civilization called the Samarands, whose highly developed civilization, which evidence suggests collapsed almost overnight when an unknown strain of Bacteria was introduced to the planet {possibly by Meteor. This is believed to have happened approximately 50,000 years ago. Both the Overlords Alliance and The Galactic Patrol have a base on Samara. From time to time travellers are marooned here and must find their way to the base of your Alliance.

The dry, Desert atmosphere of Samara has preserved many of the machines and tools used by the ancient Samarands. Travellers are able to use the parts from these machines, which often contain very unusual and unexpected features, to construct innovative vehicles capable of assisting them to escape from Samara. Some of these vehicles are designed for speed, others for combat. Samara is also home to several species of Mutants who are thought to have come to Samara fairly recently and are believed to be unrelated to the original Samarand civilization.
