Space Warps

Space Warps is the name given to what can best be described as Folds in the fabric of the Milky Way Galaxy. These Folds have been compared to laying a piece of cloth flat then folding it several times. Areas of the cloth which were distant from each other when the cloth was spread out flat, become closer when the cloth is folded several times.

Space Scientists speculated that space within the Milky Way Galaxy may be folded in much the same way as a piece of cloth. Experiments over many years resulted in confirmation that parts of the Milky Way Galaxy are in fact folded as with the piece of cloth referred to in the example above, thus shortening considerable some distances travelled within the Milky Way Galaxy.
