The Overlords
The Overlords alliance was born out discontent by 5 Home Planets with the control being exercised over them by the Galactic Patrol, under the leadership of Roko Zinzan. Mainstream galactic histories trace the formation of the Overlords alliance to resistance by the Overlords planets of Alpha, Mordar, Vega, Tarus and Mystral. While attempting to stamp out criminal actities throughout the galaxy, the Galactic Patrol came into increasing conflict with the various planets that now make up the Overlords alliance. The leaders of these planets complained that the activities of the Galactic Patrol were curtailing their legitimate business activities. Hovever these planets appear to rely on creative business activities which included piracy, hi-jacking, extortion, drug-trafficking and terrorism as the basis of their economy. Their attempts to subjugate other weaker planets brought them into further conflict with the Galactic Patrol.
The Patrol, as the only intra-galactic law enforcement body, objected to these economic activities and the Overlords planets resented the interference of the Galactic Patrol in what they considered to be legitimate business enterprises. War broke out and lasted for 100 years. This series of battles are known as the Wars of Domination, with each alliance struggling ubsuccessfully to dominate the other. They have now set about building a mighty military alliance with which to challenge the Galactic Patrol.
According to the "Official History of the Mordarian Peoples", the Overlords alliance was born out of the resistance by a group of planets to what they considered to be the imperialistic activities of the Galactic Patrol and before it the Vulcan Space Patrol and the Space Patrol. The Official History contains many tales of un-warranted attacks by the Galactic Patrol in its various forms upon the peoples of Mordar and their various allies. The Mordan Dominator Hatan 31, who commissioned the "Official History of the Modarian Peaples" has persistently denied allegations by the Galactic Patrol that the History is a work of fiction. The generally held view is that the Overlords and their allies are attempting to extend their control over the whole of the galaxy and in so doing will at best curtail the business activities of a number of planets, and at worst totally enslave these planets.
The current position is that neither alliance is sufficiently powewrful to defeat the other. Skirmishes and minor battles occur from time to time but the battles of the Wars of Domination in which 1,000s of heavy military Spacecraft were involved have not re-occurred in the past few years.
The Overlords have now developed a mighty military alliance with which to challenge the Galactic Patrol. Modarians are natural leaders and excellent organizers. Their allies are all fierce and warlike and very difficult to overcome. The sole ambition of the Overlord alliance is total domination of the Galaxy. It appears to be only a matter of time before open warfare again breaks out on a previously unheard of galactic scale.
