Vegans

Vegans are a proud and honourable race who were initially allied with The Galactic Patrol but became disillusioned with what they considered to be preferential treatment given to Humans and Vulcans in developing trade relations with newly discovered Planets. This is now acknowledged to have been largely as the result of a number of misunderstandings on both sides as the Vegans exhibit certain language idiosyncrasies, such as nodding their heads when disagreeing and shaking their hears when agreeing, which complicate communications.

As Vega is a barren planet situated in a dying solar system with a Red Giant sun and possess few natural resources, the Vegans are desperate to colonise other planets with the intention of eventually transferring their entire population to a new home planet. Approaches to Vulcan and Earth about their worsening situation were not treated seriously at the time as both planets were involved in disputes with other planets. Vega subsequently decided that their best course of achieving their desire to find a replacement Home Planet lay in entering an alliance with the Overlords Alliance group of Planets.

Vegans live underground in great cities. The surface of the planet now has almost no atmosphere and is continually bombarded by meteorites and rocks from space. As well as this, The Galactic Patrol, incensed at Vegans for joining the Overlords Alliance, are constantly bombing Vega. Fires burn uncontrolled on the surface. The Vegan sky is as black as the mood that currently prevails on Vega.
