Vulcan Space Patrol

Vulcan Space Patrol was the earliest fore-runner of The Galactic Patrol. As the name implies, it was developed on Vulcan as a protection for early space travellers in particular explorers and traders.

It was deleloped initially as a form of Police Force responsible for imposing Vulcan criminal laws in the areas frequented by Vulcan space travellers. As these travellers came into increasing contact with other intelligent lifeforms, it became increasingly difficult to impose Vulcan law in these new territories.

The Vulcan Space Patrol, essentially a police force, was later developed into the Space Patrol, a military body with the duel function of protecting Vulcan travellers from aggressive action by other races, and also to enforce Vulcan law with respect to Vulcans behaviour towards other Vulcans.

With the expansion of the developed areas of the Milky Way Galaxy and the discovery of other Planets inhabited by intelligent lifeforms the task of police and protector became too big for ony one nation to undertake. Thus was born The Galactic Patrol.
